Together, we transform concepts into environments and integral works of art.

Communication and collaboration is the key to creating successful commissions. Notions about color, form, texture, content and style need to relate in a process of distillation like the act of painting itself. Building a strong rapport between the client and artist will make this process more successful and enjoyable.

Acculturated in the multifaceted suburbs Los Angeles California, surrounded by talentand opportunities, one of my earliest jobs was to paint graphics and signage in preparations for the 1984 L.A. Olympics. The Memphis inspired designs escaped concept sketches, flowing out onto banners, buildings and kiosks. The effect was a collage of color and pattern over the smoggy underpainting of the city. The simultaneous rebirth of a sponsored mural movement added to the surreal vistas of the city. I assisted two experienced artists, who introduced me to the art of mural painting, and to an extended artistic family.

From this group, we formed a "creative service" producing in-house instructional videos, trade show kiosks and sales meeting designs for Mitsubishi, Emerson, Toshiba and others. It was an artistic boot camp, where I worked on everything from set design, construction, prop painting and art direction, to the graphic design of logos and brochures.

Breaking from these "labors", I attended the Pasadena Art Center College of Design majoring in illustration with an emphasis on fine art painting. The strong foundation in draftsmanship, design and painting has been vital to my career that is marked by an obsession to paint.

During college, I continued to pick up jobs at independent film stages, working on early music videos, renderings of props for an illusion designer and sketches of lighting grid layouts for rock nd rap concerts. These seemingly random endeavors lead to mural and illustration work on quirky independent films...and to several in the mainstream on the lots of Universal, Paramount and Columbia Studios.

I also created murals in the "real world". One can still be seen from the plaza of MOCA in downtown L.A. if you look into the "Grand Café"on the ground floor of the Omni International Hotel. I worked for several art studios including Douglas Bouman & Associates. Soon hired full time, I relocated with my wife and daughter to their new studio on the Central Coast of California. DB&A offered the opportunity to paint full time on an epic variety of international projects. I have enjoyed over 15 years collaborating with experienced talented artists and designers.

As of 2008, I am once again a full time freelance artist, enjoying a new freedom of communication with my clients. I look forward to combining our collective knowledge, talent and experience.
